Minutes of meeting: 8 December 2014

ADBASTON PARISH COUNCIL

A MEETING OF THE PARISH COUNCIL WAS HELD ON MONDAY 8TH DECEMBER 2014 AT 7.30PM IN THE JUBILEE ROOM ADBASTON.

PRESENT: Cllr(s) P.Nicholson., A.Ward., B.Brown., P.Byrd., P.Drewnicki., N.Evans.,

J.Mansell.

ITEM 1 CHAIRMAN'S WELCOME: The chairman welcomed all those present and opened

the meeting.

ITEM 2 APOLOGIES: all members present, no apologies received.

ITEM 3 MINUTES OF THE OCTOBER 13TH MEETING. The minutes were accepted as a

correct record and signed by the chairman.

ITEM 4 MATTERS ARISING. There were no matters arising from the October meeting.

ITEM 5 ON GOING ITEMS.

A HIGHWAYS MATTERS.

SPEED LIMIT. BISHOPS OFFLEY/ADBASTON. Following the petitioning of residents it was agreed to

restarting the issue with Cllr F Chapman and concentrating on Adbaston-Shebdon . This to be put on the February agenda as a specific item. On going.

FLASHBROOK ISSUES. BRIDGE- Some work has been done and other jobs are listed for action.

On going.

FLOODING. Reported, no action has been seen taking place but flooding has not been such a problem recently. On going.

DEFIBRILLATOR. The application for a grant from British Heart Foundation had been unsuccessful owing the its criteria not being met. The Millennium Green Committee however remain committed to the venture. Work on the steps on the intended site remains to be done (brick replacement)

but a successful outcome is assured. On going.

PARISH PLAN: A discussion concluded that a further questionnaire would not work and that a published update of work to date and hopefully some feedback on specific issues – Defibrillator, Road Safety, Highways conditions etc might be a better alternative. On going.

NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH. This continues smoothly, however it was reported that the 101 emergency number is overloaded nationally. On going.

OFFLEY MARSH PROJECT. A good turnout collecting material for the annual bonfire was reported.

The area is now looking good and a working party is being arranged in the spring. On going.

ITEM 6 CORRESPONDENCE.

A STAFFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL. CIVIC AMENITY VISITS.

B SPCA – SPRING GAZETTE WITH LETTER INVITING THE COUNCIL TO JOIN THE ASSOCIATION.

ITEM 7 FINANCE

A CONCURRENT FUNCTION PAYMENTS: The following approved.

ADBASTON JUBILEE CLUB THE SUM OF £200.00

ADBASTON PAROCHIAL CHURCH COUNCIL THE SUM OF £160/00 (plus £340.00 from precept totalling £500.00 for churchyard maintenance)

STAFFORD BORDER GROUP OF CHURCHES THE SUM OF £75.00 TOWARDS PRODUCTION OF THE CHURCH AND VILLAGE NEWSLETTER. (TOTAL CONCURRENT PAYMENTS £435.00)

CLERK'S SALARY 2014. £500.00 (The chairman thanked the clerk for work carried out during the year)

ROOM HIRE PAYMENT – TO BE PAID AT THE FEBRUARY MEETING.

PRECEPT 2014/2015. IT WAS AGREED TO SET A £5.00 PRECEPT THE SAME AS IN 2013/2014.

ITEM 8 PLANNING APPLICATION

14/21377/HOU PERRY CROFT. CASH LANE, OFFLEY MARSH. Demolition of existing garage/store and proposed new garage/store/log store. No objections were raised on this application.

ITEM 9 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION/ANY OTHER BUSINESS.

A Reported:- a large stone on the road in Bishops Offley – approaching Bishops Offley Manor causing probems. The chairman agreed to speak with SCC's Shane Latham.

ITEM 10 DATE OF NEXT MEETING. February 9th 2015.
