ADBASTON PARISH COUNCIL

A MEETING OF THE COUNCIL WAS HELD ON MONDAY 13TH AUGUST 2012 AT 7.30PM IN THE JUBILEE ROOM. ADBASTON

PRESENT: Cllr(S) N.Evans., P.Nicholson., B.Brown., P.Drewnicki., J.Mansell., A.Ward. (Cllr H Butter) 3 members of the public.

1 CHAIRMAN'S WELCOME: The chairman welcomed all those present and opened the meeting.

2 APOLOGIES: An apology received from Cllr P Byrd.

3 MINUTES OF THE JUNE 11th MEETING: Accepted as a correct record and signed by the chairman.

4 MATTERS ARISING:

A NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH.' Nothing to report.

B WINTER GRITTING: Staffordshire and Shropshire Councils contacted. On going.

C BISHOPS OFFLEY COMMON: Cllr A Ward had provided a three year plan. Proposed, cut back material as appropriate in October for drying in time for November 5th. A team of volunteers and a schedule to be arranged. Cllr A Ward to co-ordinate. On going.

D PARKING. ST MICHAELS CLOSE, ADBASTON. Cllr H Butter reported that he understood that Staffordshire County Council have agreed to carry out the work on the layby after the financial issue had been resolved. Thanks were express to Cllr Butter for his work on this matter. On going.

E PARISH PLAN. Agreed to discharge this item but to carry out a review annually. Discharge.

F 30MPH SPEED LIMT/BISHOPS OFFLEY/ADBASTON. Reported: this is proceeding through the system and will eventually be achieved. On going.

G OFFLEY ROCK: Cllr Nicholson reported contacting SCC's S Latham. A tree surgeon has been consulted and an updated report is awaited. On going.

H HIGHWAYS NEIGHBOURHOOD TEAM VISIT: Cllr Nicholson reported that Liason Officer Shane Latham had taken all issues on board and work carried/being carried out as appropriate. (items included.

5 CORRESPONDENCE:

A STAFFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL: LOCALISM ACT 2011 – NEW STANDARDS REGIME. TRAINING SESSIONS. (CLERK TO ATTEND)

6 FINANCE:-

A ANNUAL AUDIT RETURN. Audit completed, certificate provided.

B AUDIT COMMISSION, AUDIT FEE. £60.00 (INC VAT) Payment authorised.

7 PLANNING APPLICATIONS:

12/17351/HOU. 4 MARSH MEADOW, ADBASTON. SINGLE STORE REAR EXTENSION. (Response date missed but reported that the work had already been carried out.

8 PUBLIC PARTICIPATION/ANY OTHER BUSINESS:

A Cllr J Mansell reported that a dip on the Flashbrook – Knighton road causes a 'blind spot' and queried with suitable signeage could be provided. Cllr Nicholson agreed to discuss this with Mr Shane Latham.

B OVER GROWN HEDGE causing problems for wheelchair users, Cllr P Drewnicki to speak with the owner of the property concerned.

C SANDBANK - the chairman to email the appropriate authority.
